Dadinou "A Haven of Peace in the Heart of Perigord"
This handsome property, originally a very old barn, has been renovated into a charming and comfortable large home on 40 hectares of its own park and woodlands. The property is perched on a plateau with beautiful views across to the Château at Fleurac, about 5 kms away. All the renowned historical sites and Périgordine châteaux are within easy reach as well as some of the best restaurants in the area providing, of course, that you can tear yourself away from the garden, pool and tennis court. The area is ideal for nature treks, cycling, canoeing and bird watching.
In the Main House, the entire ground floor is a large open plan room with stone walls and floors and a wealth of exposed beams. The three areas of the room - kitchen, sitting and dining room are divided by substantial vertical beams. The well equipped kitchen with pale blue farm style units also has a utility room just behind with large American fridge. The dining area has a solid Périgordine table and chairs and the comfortable sitting area is furnished with pale lemon sofas and easy chairs around the old stone fireplace. Furnishings, pictures and drapes all add to the warmth of this lovely room. There is also a cloakroom on the ground floor level.
Double doors open from sitting, dining and kitchen onto the paved patio in front of the swimming pool. A wooden staircase leads up to the master bedroom with ensuite bathroom, a mezzanine reading area, three further bedrooms, a further shower room with WC and a tower room study with TV. All bedrooms have been very prettily decorated and have individual country style furniture painted in pastel hues. To one side of the Main House there is a separate stone Cottage which is completely self contained with open plan kitchen/sitting/dining room, two double bedrooms and two bath &/or shower rooms. In common with the Main House the decor in the Cottage has been carried out with en eye to detail and has retained exposed stonework in some of the rooms.
Outside the gardens are beautifully tended with a very large area laid to lawn around and close to the swimming pool and there is a wealth of mature trees. The tennis court is set to one side of the grounds, close to the cottage.

Bike rentals from the Syndicat d'Initiatives in Les Eyzies for excellent biking on country roads all around. Dadinou also has numerous forest paths ideal for hiking and mountain biking.

Outdoor markets held weekly in many nearby villages (in Rouffignac on Sunday and in Le Bugue on Tuesday).
The famous Lascaux caves and many other prehistoric sites are within easy driving distance.
The medieval market towns of Sarlat, Périgueux and Bergerac are 45 minutes away.
The Dordogne region is characterized by an ongoing array of châteaux and fortified towns (bastides), including Monbazillac, Lanquais, Beaumont, Biron, Milandes, Beynac, Castelnaud and Fenelon. All are within an easy day trip.
Transportation:
BY CAR: From Paris the most direct route is the A20 motorway to Orleans and Limoges.
BY TRAIN: High speed train (TGV) from Paris to Angouleme takes 2.5 hours. Rental cars available at the station.
BY PLANE: International flights into Paris and Bordeaux airports. There are also flights (Buzz Airlines) from London into nearby Bergerac.
Dadinou is a 1 hour and fifteen minutes drive via auto route from Bordeaux. There is an alternative (wine route) on more minor roads.
Inclusions:
Price includes electricity, linens and towels, six hours of cleaning per week and final cleaning after departure. The housekeeper comes for three hours of cleaning on Monday (including changes of linens, etc.) and returns for three hours of cleaning on Thursday. Additional maid service may be arranged. A Chef can be arranged to cook meals on Mondays, Thursdays & Saturdays.
Please note both houses must be rented together in the summer months but may be rented separately in spring, fall and winter. If either the house or the cottage is rented in those months, the other property will not be rented to another party so that renters' privacy is assured.

Rentals run from Saturday 4:00 PM to the following Saturday 10:00 AM.
