This traditional Provencal village Mas (country house) is located in the ancient village of Le Vieux Oppede in the heart of France's famous Luberon Valley. The village dates back to the Middle Ages and is surrounded by the ruins of a 14th Century castle. The village of Le Vieux Oppede is situated within the best triangle of the Luberon region.

The original structure of the house dates back to the 15th Century. The house is over 160 sq meters (1600 sq ft) in size and can comfortably sleep six people in three bedrooms. This charming Provencal home has a splendid terrace offering spectacular views of the Provence countryside and the Luberon Valley. The terrace is ideal for sun bathing during the day or star gazing at nighttime. In addition to the splendid terrace the home also offers a lovely shaded courtyard ideal for outdoor dining and furnished with an outside bed for naps.

The house features a living room with a fireplace, a separate TV salon, and three bedrooms each having a shower or bathtub. Two bedroom have ensuite showers and one bedroom has an ensuite bathtub. The house has two toilets. Two of the bedrooms have double beds and one bedroom has a queen size bed (160 cm). There is a well equipped kitchen (with a dishwasher) that is both aesthetically pleasing as well as functional. The house has a TV, DVD player, a stereo CD system plus a telephone. The house has a washing machine and comes with bed and bath linens included in the price.

The village of Oppede le Vieux offers a small cafe on the village square. There is bakery, a general store and a post office within 1 km of the house. On Sunday mornings there is a wonderful fresh farm market in the town of Coustelet (5 km's). There are lots of hiking paths leading from the house to the mountains and surrounding countryside. There is tennis at the Oppede Tennis Club, a nice public swimming pool in the village of l'Isle sur la Sorgue (10 km's) and golf at Saumane (12 km's). During July and August there are many dance, music and theatre festivals as well as corridas (bullfighting).

The property is superbly situated for exploring the cities and villages of this magnificent part of France. Located in the Vaucluse region of Provence the house is 40 km's. south east of Avignon (about a 45 min. drive) and 90 km's. north of Marseilles (about a 1 hour drive), a 45 minutes drive from Aix en Provence, 45 minutes drive from Orange and a one hour drive from Arles. The village is surrounded by the renowned mountain top villages of Provence (many deemed "The Most Beautiful Villages of France") such as Menerbes, Bonnieux, La Coste, Roussillon, Gordes and many more. Avignon is easily accessed from Paris by TGV (high speed train) whereupon a rental car can be picked up at the train station.

The house is professionally cleaned before and after each weekly stay. The final cleaning is included in the price. For visits of two weeks or longer there is a complimentary once a week cleaning and change of linens included in the price.
