Reviews:
Good evening Connie -- What a magnificent place this is , on the rue Saint Antoine. It has been a comfortable, quiet, restorative haven for me, and some friends as well. The Arsenal Cafe2-bar, directly across the street is a wonderful morning coffee place, and I also discovered the Vin des Pyrenees place around the corner, that is open at many times of day and night, with a wonderful little terrace. https://www.vinsdespyrenees.com/
I will report more details tomorrow.
All best from paris 4e,
Helen
Good morning Connie -- 1 more report on the wonderful Saint Antoine.
A few more strong points of the apartment :
a remarkably well-equipped kitchen with all kinds of utensils and pots -- for those who enjoy cooking at home -- bringing unbeatable fish from the Richard Lenoir/Bastille market.
the heating bar in the bathroom for shower towels, and drying small clothes items
the building itself -- not only the unbeatable view out the window of the Vosges, but the whole ambience of the building -- from the passageway into the courtyard, and the period piece stairwell, with 'tommette" and wooden steps. For anyone interested in the history of architecture and Paris -- it is "une bonne adresse" The Hôtel de Sully, just down the street, with its top bookstore on France's and UNESCO's monumental patrimony gives you all you can imagine to read on this subject!
For the kind of clients who want to 'stay home' in Paris as much as head out in search of other 'delices', this is an extraordinary apt.
Thanks Connie.
Springtime best to you, Helen
We loved the apartment, everything about it. The location was wonderful, with a lovely view of Place des Vosges out the front window. Right on two subway lines with two stations 4 minutes away. The neighborhood was just what we wanted, very French with lovely cafes and boutiques everywhere, lots of people around, but not noisy. The apartment provided everything we needed, and a lot we never used.
We enjoyed dinner at one of the restaurants you recommended, but unfortunately we got sick and didn’t have a chance to try any of the others. It was so much more comfortable being sick in the apartment than it would have been in a hotel, and it forced us to sit back a relax a bit.
The manager who met us was very accommodating and pleasant. Almost like having our own concierge. And we loved the building with its ancient doorway and garden courtyard.
Thank you so much for finding us this home away from home.
I also want to let you know about a tour we took to the Normandy beaches. A friend from Hingham recommended Shahin Akvavi whose website is parisluxurytours.com. We had a wonderful day with Shahin who picked us up and dropped us off at the apartment and gave us an extremely informative and sensitive tour. Shahin was born in Iran, grew up in the US and has lived in Europe since graduating from college years ago. A fascinating and lovely man.
We look forward to working with you again.
