This apartment is in the epicenter of the trendy and very art gallery renowned area of the Marais.
The apartment is in the center of Paris’ most historic district, the Marais, with its oldest surviving properties dating back to the 13th century. The Marais became the favored locale for Paris’ aristocracy in the 16th century. Most of the finest buildings in the quartier, including many magnificent hôtels particuliers, were built in the 16th and 17th centuries.

The pivotal event of the French Revolution occurred in the Marais, on 14 July 1789, with the storming of the Bastille (2km/1.2 miles east of the apartment). The quartier fell on hard times after the Revolution as most of the nobility left.

In the late 20th century, the Marais came back into fashion. It is now an artistic hub and the heart of Paris’ Jewish and LGBT communities, with a seemingly endless number of amazing museums, galleries, shops, cafés, restaurants and bars, all of which are easily accessible by foot. It is the perfect spot for exploring the rest of Paris, thanks to its central location and easy transport connections.

 Your Marais Neighborhood:
The Marais is the oldest neighborhood in Paris. Historically, this was the Jewish quartier and it still retains some of it’s ethnic charm with a beautiful synagogue, kosher bakeries and popular Falafal take-out eateries. The Marais’ ancient streets now house trendy fashion names and art galleries. There are many specialty food shops; boulangeries, pastisseries, green grocers, cheese shops, etc. along with the famous ‘Les Enfants Rouge’ open market place. People love wandering the streets of the Marais discovering its hidden surprises! At your apartment’s doorstep, under the handsome arched arcades surrounding the square, can be found famous restaurants, fun cafes and lovely art galleries.
