Fantastic Neighborhood Outdoor Market: Marché Raspail
Location: Renne Métro Stop (crossroad of rue des Rennes and Blvd. Raspail)
Tuesday, Friday and Sunday mornings 8 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Bursting with high-quality epicurean delights, this thrice-weekly market attracts the city's top chefs and discerning foodies! Marché Raspail remains one of the most vibrant open-air food markets in Paris! Like other Paris markets, this one draws a broad cross-section of locals who regularly shop here for their weekly provisions. It has everything from fresh produce to dairy, meats, flowers, and prepared foods. Young children pedal their foot scooters while parents complete their purchases. Some older customers, aided by walking sticks, navigate the well-grooved path to their favorite vendors. There can be some tourists, but make no mistake, this market isn’t a tourist trap. It mostly caters to the appetites and needs of local residents.
Marché Raspail is one of over seventy open-air neighborhood food markets in Paris. Centrally located in the 6th arrondissement along boulevard Raspail, stretching from rue du Cherche-Midi to rue de Rennes, Marché Raspail is open every Tuesday and Friday morning all year long. On Sunday mornings, an organic market – “Marché Biologique Raspail” (or simply “Le Marché Bio”) – can be found in the same location, but with a different set of vendors who specialize in organic items.
At the regular market on Tuesdays and Fridays, one finds several stands selling vegetables and fruits, numerous cheese sellers, fishmongers, butchers, triperies, and more. Olives and nuts come in a variety of flavors and colors. The rôtisserie chicken is especially renowned … as its juices drip upon chunks of potatoes … as are the breads and savory pastries. Monsieur Grémillet sells foie gras in vacuum-packed cans that can be transported home for a taste of Paris well after vacation has ended. For immediate gratification, the food truck Cantine California serves up various options including kale chips.
It’s somewhat misleading to refer to these as “food markets” since the offerings are much broader. In addition to all the delicious foods, one can also find scarves, gloves, leather goods, health and beauty products, jewelry, and even furniture repair. A visit to Marché Raspail can easily be combined with a foray to the nearby iconic gourmet food hall, La Grande Épicerie, or to the Jardin Luxembourg for a perfect picnic!
The ‘Marché Bio’ is on Sunday mornings while the “regular” (non-organic) Marché Raspail is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The nearest Métro stop is Rennes.
The apartment price is fully inclusive and includes once a week complimentary cleaning. ***Scroll down for property location map.
Reviews:
Hi Connie- B and I had a wonderful stay at 22 Rue Dragon last week. It was cute, spic and span, and what a GREAT location! We trust we left the place in satisfactory condition; left the keys for Josette per instructions, and took off with our pre-arranged driver, Ali, for Charles DeGaulle. Thanks for everything!! When convenient we have a Security Deposit coming- let us know if there is anything we need to do. And again, Merci Bien- we had such a good time. A and B May, 22. 2024

Hello Connie and Nader,
Thank you for suggesting our Saint Germain des Pres apartment. We loved it. Its location was fantastic as we explored the 6th arrondissement, with the Metro and bus stops conveniently located close by. So many restaurants, galleries, stores, and fun window shopping within blocks, not to mention CityPharma around the corner!
We will be back. Thank you, again.

Bonjour Connie et Nader:
John and I were absolutely delighted with our apartment on Rue du Dragon! Our first vacation to Paris was truly memorable, and we vow to return. The apartment is perfectly located, and with beautiful early fall weather in our favor we were able to walk to almost every site we wanted to see, including the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, the Garnier, the Musee D’Orsay, and the Luxembourg Gardens. It was very well appointed and had a nice supply of everything we needed for the week. Despite its central location it was quiet at night, yet a stone’s throw from the bustling Boulevard St Germain with its wonderful cafe’s and restaurants.
Thank you again for your kind assistance, and we have referred several friends to you for their potential travels to France!
Perhaps we will meet some time at French Memories, where Ann gave me your name!

Hi Connie and Nader,
We got home last night after our 2+ weeks in Paris. It’s always such a magical experience — the art, music, boulevards, gardens, and all that fabulous food. We bring home many lovely memories. Thank you so much for helping us to have this beautiful trip. We really appreciate your flexibility as we had to postpone it twice. And please pass along our thanks to Mme P for her extending our credit twice.
Merci beaucoup! Wishing you both well,
L & M 2022
Dear Connie,
Thanks for your nice email—I’ll be on the lookout for the security deposit check. I really enjoyed the apartment on rue du dragon. As you described, it was ideally located for access to many desirable restaurants, shops, points of interest. I had a terrific stay and felt safe throughout the visit. I do apologize for difficulties with my phone service and not reaching the contact person at the expected time upon arrival in Paris. The contact person was understanding and very patient. I will definitely look into different phone plans for any trips in future.
It’s always a pleasure working with Panache. You provide much invaluable information in your materials and personal, thoughtful attention to your clients. I am grateful to be among them.
Thanks for everything,
